Archaeology for schoolchildren

Archaeologists Juha-Pekka Joona and Eija Ojanlatva introduce primary school pupils to the work of an archaeologist. The schoolchildren will also learn about ancient bows and arrows and their use. Arrangements concerning these visits to Siida are made directly with the schools. The event is arranged by the Sámi Museum Siida/the Sámi Cultural Environment Unit and the Metsähallitus’ project Field Survey of Cultural Heritage Sites in the State-Owned Forests of Finland. The event is connected with the National Archaeological Day and its theme “Tracing the Past”.
