Siida provides a good and inspiring setting for a successful meeting, seminar or training session. From us, you can reserve only meeting facilities – our “Rest Stops” – or you can choose one of our meeting packages that give you a taste of Sámi culture and nature. We can also compose, together, a package especially for you.
The migratory Sámi way of life required functional and diverse dwellings and structures. When the Sámi went on a hunting trip or picking cloudberries, they stayed temporarily in a tent, or lávvu. Different kinds of huts represent the dwellings that were used when living more permanently in a place; of these, the sod hut is one of the oldest ones. The Forest Sámi were the first group to build, on their permanent dwelling sites, the type of log cabins that Finns lived in.
The meeting packages of Siida have got their names from the different traditionals dwellings of the Sámi. Sámi Tent is a meeting service which contains either coffee services or a lunch, whereas the package Sámi Lodge means a longer stay and time spent for seeking inspiration at the exhibitions of Siida. If you want to have a cozy meeting, you can choose the package Sod Hut and have the meeting in the heated sod hut Gámme by the Siida Building.
