Colours in the North, Light in Time – Paintings by Séverine Cuénod

After a number of graphic and artistic experiments, Séverine Cuénod from Switzerland has, for the past seven years, drawn his inspiration from the landscapes of Lapland – especially those of Inari and Sevettijärvi – in order to provide us with a fresh perspective. With the seasons, the harmony of Arctic beauty wells from a spectre of colours and exceptional light conditions. Cuénod’s works manifest a highly personal vision of this magical natural environment. Thanks to a variety of details, tones, lights, intimacy and moods vibrate, taking us towards poetry and beauty. The richness and the diversity of Nature give us the opportunity to grasp the core of Cuénod’s paintings. The great variety of details guides us towards our own emotional states.
