Museum pedagogy: products

The Sámi culture interests both today’s Sámi young people and other people interested in culture. It is the task of the Sámi Museum to provide correct information on Sámi culture. In this work, museum pedagogic and guiding services are an important means of communication.

Northern Lapland is also an excellent destination for school camps: the group can get acquainted with both Sámi culture and Arctic nature at the same time. The fee for a two-hour program for school camps contains a guided tour in the exhibitions and a short lesson in the Sámi language.

"Buresboahtin!" (Welcome!)
The program can be reserved by anyone and suits groups of adults, too.
Content:
Guided tour at Siida (duration 1hr 15 min)
Buresboahtin! – Welcome! A lesson in the Sámi language. The group will learn to greet in North Sámi and get acquainted with the Inari Sámi clothing (duration 45 min).

The collections and information services of the Sámi Museum and our web materials expand the visitor’s understanding of the diverse nature of Sámi culture.
