In the seminar, we will have a look at indigenous music from the point of view of generations. How do Sámi lyrics come about, and what do they tell about their time and the generations of musicians? How has Sámi music affected mainstream music in different times? An interesting perspective is presented by Vladimir Khomenko, who will tell about the music of the Evenki and the power of tradition.

We will also hear a great deal of music during the seminar. In the seminar, the language North Sámi, Finnish and Russian will be used, with interpretation available.

The seminar is arranged by the Sámi Museum Siida, Giellagas Institute and the Sámi Education Institute. The seminar is free for everyone. Welcome!
